NMPA Legislative Process Summary:

Welcome to the NMPA Legislative Committee page. We are committed to legislative and governmental action to advance the interests of psychology, psychologists, and the public to promote a psychologically healthy New Mexico. We also advocate for legislation that aligns with the core goals and visions of the NMPA.

Legislation of interest is identified by our NMPA lobbyist or our NMPA members and is sent to our committee for review by the NMPA Board. If there is legislation a member would be interested in bringing to the NMPA Board's attention, please follow the links below to the NMPA Advocacy form.

Starting in January, the New Mexico legislature holds a 60 day session in odd numbered years, and a 30 day session in even numbered years (see here for more information on the structure of the New Mexico Legislature). During these sessions you will see the bills that NMPA is tracking, as well as any positions NMPA has taken, in the bill tracker below.
