The presentation will include 1) a review of research that supports the use of measurement during and after psychological treatment to improve treatment outcomes and 2) a description of measurement tools currently used by New Mexico psychologists.  This will include a brief description of various measurement tools and the advantages, disadvantages and lessons learned from using these measurements.


Several psychologists will serve on a panel throughout the program to provide their experiences and recommendations.* Audience discussion and interaction with the panel will be strongly encouraged.

The audience will receive an extensive handout describing a wide variety of measurement tools currently used by psychologists to enable further study and development of measurement skills.


Learning Objectives:

1. Identify two or more research-based advantages of using progress and outcome measures to improve treatment outcomes.

2. Identify three or more treatment progress and outcome measures that can be effectively and efficiently incorporated into a psychologist’s evaluation and treatment practice.

3. Identify two or more outcome measurement trends in psychological practice that are likely to impact the practice of psychology in the future.

*You must attend the full seminar to receive CE credits.  Participants arriving more than 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time or leaving more than 15 minutes prior to the end will not receive CE credits.   No partial credit will be awarded for this presentation.
